There is a basic way I get my kids clothes basically free. I recently posted how I Made Money on my Kids Halloween Costumes. Using the same concept I can pretty much get 4 kids worth of clothes for free.
Ready for my trick? It's so easy! I shop garage sales, church sales, and thrift stores for our kids clothes. I buy clothes in top condition and many times still new with tags. I also make sure to get top brands, Oshkosh jeans are our family favorite. You can grab these for $1 each or less an item! Since kids outgrow clothes so fast and we travel we have no more the 10 summer outfits and 10 winter outfits per kid. I can buy a whole wardrobe for one kid under $50.
When my kids outgrow the clothes (and after each holiday) we send the clothes to a consignment shop. Right now I really like send to Swap.com. They take pictures and store the items and handle shipping and I get to choose my prices. Every 2 weeks I get my money deposited in PayPal.
I will generally get $50-$75 per kids wardrobe by selling on Swap. I had all 4 kids out grow their clothes all at the same time once. The same time I sent in homeschool books and items we were done with for the year. This was my check my swap.
It works great for me too I sent in my maternity clothes and as I have been losing weight I can send in my clothes too as they become to big.
As mentioned I send in my Halloween Costumes after they are used and I do the same for Christmas and Easter outfits. I can also send in homeschool books after we use them and toys as they outgrow them.
Also, remember when shopping online to use Ebates and their kid's section as much as possible. I love getting cash back on things I'm buying anyway!
